  2. hey .....that's frost. there has not been a snowfall in kodai since 1985 that I know of. But the temperature has gone below 0 degrees. One can see frost almost every december last week & first week of jan.

  7. Frost is condensation of water into ice particles when temperature reduces to 0 or below 0. This happens in many locations in India when the temp reaches sub-zero condition. Snowfall is completely different phenomenon than formation of frost. In Ooty also you can see frost formation in the early hrs of the day when temp reaches sub-zero condition.

  8. that;s frost which forms when water vapors freeze on a surface when temp is sub freezing but snowfall happens when water vapors in clouds freeze and stick to each others falling as flakes.
